Choosing the correct electric motor is the most important decision for the reliability of any powered machine. The right motor runs quietly for years; the wrong one overheats, fails early and wastes energy.

Start with the mechanical load — the required power in kilowatts, the operating speed in RPM, and whether the duty is continuous (S1) or intermittent. Then match the environment: dusty workshops and wet wash bays need a sealed TEFC / IP55 design, while ventilation fans can use open, well-cooled frames.
